Abstract

The author develops three key observations about religious practices Pentecostalism has added to the overall inequality balance in Latin America by pointing out the complexity and ambiguity of its social endeavors in line with analytical dimensions and contexts. He specifically takes up Catholicism’s regional avatars; Pentecostalism’s growth in Latin America; that religion’s implantation characteristics among the working classes; and a discussion of its value in relation to reproducing a wide variety of inequalities in today’s Latin American societies.
